Course title: Satellite Data Collection Platform Installation and Operation Workshop
Description: This workshop is designed to train personnel in the installation, operation, and maintenance of hydrologic data collection systems that use GOES telemetry. Classroom training will include an overview of satellite data-collection systems, general capabilities of data collection platforms (DCP's), the GOES satellite telemetry system, equipment protection, site reconnaissance, planning, and preparation, telemetry installation, power systems, sensor interfaces, antennas and masts, and troubleshooting.
Students attending this class will learn the correct way to install DCP's in the gagehouse. The students will be given hands-on practice at setting up and programming several different DCP's, various types of sensors, and test equipment..
Prerequisite Info:
Basic Electronics and Troubleshooting Instrumentation (BET) Course OR Instructor approval. Familiarity with Electronics and Instrumentation is highly recommended and will be considered as a substitute for the BET course.

All personnel who are in early stage of installing/operating DCP's.
