Imagery services were created using the NASA Blue Marble Next Generation (BMNG) product for the smallest scales ranging from a world view to 1:2.3M, and a subset of the Global Land Survey 2000 (Landsat) product for remaining small scales ranging from 1:1.15M to 1:289K. The majority of imagery source for scales larger than 1:289K is from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) for the conterminous United States (CONUS). The data is 1-meter pixel resolution flown during "leaf-on" conditions. Collection of NAIP imagery is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency, and assured for quality by USGS. The National Map also has higher resolution imagery that is commonly 1-foot or better, which was acquired through partnerships with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and other State and local cooperating agencies. This imagery data is available in urban areas and along U.S. borders, and may be viewed at scales of 1:13,500 and larger. The National Map program is working on acquisition of large scale imagery for Alaska and Hawaii.
